There is a divide among auditors with some positioning themselves in internal audit jobs and others choosing to go down the external auditing route.
An auditor checks the firm’s accounting methods and bookkeeping to see their true financial situation. With qualifications and experience in accounting previously obtained then it means auditors have greater knowledge when it comes to analysing the books and records.
A good auditor can be greatly beneficial to a company and it can sometimes be useful to have fresh eyes with an outsider bringing an expert opinion on a firm’s financial condition. An auditor should provide the company with a report of their findings and how the company can increase profits, save on taxes and help management cut costs.
